Ochazuke (tea over cooked rice) is an excellent light meal for those hot summer days that you are too lazy to cook!
- 50g smoked salmon*
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1 1/2 tsp genmaicha
- 1/2 cup vegetable stock
- 1 small bowl warm cooked rice*
- Make tea broth by adding the hot water and vegetable stock to the tea leaves.
- In a bowl place the rice and lay the smoked salmon over the rice. Pour hot genmaicha over the rice. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
- Serving suggestion: Top Ochazuke with corn, seaweed or thin strip of ham instead of smoked salmon.
