Osmanthus is a beautiful Chinese herb for taking care of your throat.
Osmanthus was regarded as an imperial herb in ancient Chinese cooking. These little golden flowers are very fragrant even when a small portion is used.
The look of osmanthus would remind you of elderflowers - same size and similar looking flowers. But if you have a tiny handful of Osmanthus in your hand, you would know it is very different to Elderflowers.
Osmanthus is very fragrant but not overwhelming like rose water. Its golden colour makes elderflowers look lacklustre - a bit like wearing a gold dress vs a yellow dress LOL
