Roasted Barley is a traditional Korean brew which has a light earthy flavour and is considered to be a healthy digestive tea.
The roasted flavour is sometimes compared to coffee (without coffee"s strength, bitterness or caffeine). It is often served chilled in the summer.
Roasted barley tea along with many grains (eg corn) fruits (eg citrus peel) and medicinal foods (eg ginseng) are also used in making tea in Korea.

Barley is a caffeine-free grain and the Colorado State University Extension says that it contains minerals and vitamins that helps to prevent diabetes, maintain an adequate weight and reduce cholesterol.
