Assam is a black tea named after the region of its production – Assam, in northern part of India. Assam black tea is known for its strength and maltiness. Historically a lot of Assam black tea is cut up to mix with other tea to provide strength, but a good Assam large leaf tea certainly deserves to be drunk on its own. Goes with milk and sugar.
