Osmanthus (Kwai flower 桂花) was a herb used in ancient Chinese cooking for making desserts for the imperial court.
Besides soothing the throat, Osmanthus has been used by Chinese for cleansing and nourishing liver and kidney which in turn may help to improve skin complexion. Its fragrance is relaxing.
The fragrance and taste of osmanthus is often compared to apricot because it has a similar delicate sweet stone fruit scent and flavour.
Osmanthus looks similar to Elderflowers but the fragrance is much more enveloping. When the plant is in full bloom as a poet in the Tang Dynasty named Song Zhi Wen described "sweet-scented osmanthus fell on the Moon as its fragrance in the sky was wafted through the clouds".
Osmanthus is very fragrant even when a small portion is used. Filtered infusion works well in desserts.

Loved it
Was one of the most loveliest teas we have had. Bought it for my husband's birthday and he was very happy.
Love this tea
Love this tea. Very mellow, almost peachy. Smooth with no hint of bitterness. Blends well with a green or oolong tea. Easy drinking either hot or cold. Seems to help with my eczema. Would definitely recommend. Service by teas.com has been exemplary.
